Funny but very cerebral material. You kind of need a college degree and maybe a few books under your belt before you can appreciate Patton Oswalt. That being said, he also writes jokes about his critique of pop culture and tabloid media. It’s his TAKE on the material that makes it seem headsy - like when you hear his jokes you might wonder if Oswalt has a little too much free time on his hands.
Master storyteller with courage to mock. Pop culture references that are must haves for any child of the 80s or 90s.
Upbeat, accessible delivery but the material tends to require long set ups that limit your bang for your buck, since his mannerisms aren’t particularly amusing.
He is a strange guy in a way but very bland/beige at the same time.
