"Sarah Silverman Show" co-creator Dan Harmon is making some acceptable TV for ABC, who just picked up his pilot entitled "Community." The show is described, somewhat unexcitingly, as "Stripes" meets community college.

The Upright Citizens Brigades' Matt Walsh will create and star in "Players", a sitcom for SpikeTV. He'll play a co-owner of a sports bar. The other owner, his brother, will be played by fellow UCBer Ian Roberts.

George Carlin's "It's Bad For Ya" wins the 2008 Grammy for Comedy album. An unsurprising, but not necessarily undeserved, win. It's Carlin's fifth Grammy.

Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman keep creepy romantic comedy tradition alive with "The Baster", where Bateman's character replaces the donor semen that will inseminate his baby-desiring best friend (Aniston) with his own. Yuck.
Carlos Mencia's invite to participate in Mardi Gras pulled after parade organizers discovered he did jokes about Katrina victims. If he says he took the jokes from someone else, would they restore his place in the parade?
IDW will start releasing definitive hardcover collections of the comic strip Bloom County in October. Each book collects two years and will include "context pages", to help readers get some of the more current events jokes.
