The UK version of Funny or Die launches with the duo of Little Britain anchoring it. The American version of their sketch comedy show will premiere on HBO this Sunday.

After writing the humor book What I'd Say to the Martians, Jack Handey pens a humor essay about how frickin' hard it is to actually find a bookstore's humor section.

The New York Comedy Festival adds additional shows, including events involving Lizz Winstead, Susie Essman, John Pinette and Paul Mooney. Plus writers from The Daily Show and Conan. Fest goes from Nov. 5th to the 9th.

Russian network 2x2 pulls not only "South Park", but also "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy" after complaints from fundamentalists. The network's broadcast license is up for renewal.

Also winners at the Emmys: The Daily Show for Best Comedy or Variety Series for a record sixth time and The Colbert Report for Writing in a Comedy or Variety Series. Don Ricklers won for Outstanding Performance in the genre.

30 Rock pretty much owns the Emmy Awards, winning for Comedy Series, Actor, Actress and Comedy Writing. Still, Tina Fey used her speech to tell folks where they can actually watch the show. Sigh.

Hey, yesterday was Dane Cook Day in Boston! They gave the comic a signed baked bean pot and a collapsible chair. And, oh, plenty of promotion for his new movie "My Best Friends Girl", which was shot in Boston. Synergy.

SNL's season opener bit invented a new word: "Flirg" or "Flirj." Poehler's Hillary Clinton says she's does not like being called a "Flirj" after Googling the (non-existent) definition. Now "Flirj" is part of the Urban Dictionary.

A sixth book in the Hitchhikers Guide series is planned, seven years after the death of original author Douglas Adams. Irish children's writer Eoin Colfer or the Artemis Fowl series will pen the volume, entitled "And Another Thing..."

Zach Galifianakis cast in two comedies, one for film and one for TV. In Todd Phillips' "Hangover", he'll be part of a trio who loses the groom at his bachelor party and in HBO's "Bored to Death", he'll be a struggling comic book artist.

Maria Bamford apparently fired from the animated "Sit Down Shut Up" helmed by Mitch Hurwitz. Bamford in her blog post says, "I guess one of the Big Wigs no likee the voce de Maria Bamforia." Fox = Fools.

Stephen Colbert will celebrate Christmas with original songs sung in duet with Elvis Costello, John Legend, Willie Nelson and Jon Stewart. Plus Toby Keith and Feist. Special airs November 23 and goes to DVD two days later

Amy Poehler will be finished with SNL in the fall. Though the article doesn't give an exact date, Poehler states "My baby drops in October and everybody's got to go out and get it."
