I saw this video of Laurie Kilmartin getting a bread roll thrown at her on stage. I think that qualifies as a comedian’s worst nightmare. She bounces right back and makes it pretty funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6wCj4EYBOs  Heard she is a writer for the Conan show!

Try to avoid announcing your last joke. Even 20-year vets do this and I have no idea why. The crowd raises their standards so much knowing that its your last joke that it sometimes gets awkward. Just kill it on your last joke and leave ‘em laughing.
