I feel like I have some good proven material but have been having a month long brain fart where I can’t think of anything new. Any good links out there with comedic writing tips? Thanks

There is a book out there called ‘Stand Up Comedy’ by Greg Dean.  The first chapter goes into what and how a joke works, the second and third chapters (I think) talks about his (the author) “system” and how to put your own material into a joke format, it goes into real good detail.  I’ve tried it, and it doesn’t work me, but again EVERYONE has their own way of writing, but give the book a chance, it might help.

Also just try reading a lot of news and celebrity stories, world news, get to know different subjects and open your mind to new ideas and trivia. That always gets the creativity juices flowing.

I have to check out some of these books. I’m not trying to be a stand-up but I love the art of stand-up. Thanks for all the great links!
