Let’s make a Halloween Cheesecake! Start with a vampire-as-metaphor-for-puberty plot, add a dozen mullets, two Coreys, a dash of Kiefer Sutherland-flavored ham, and one kick-ass soundtrack. Set oven temperature to 1987, let bake for 20 years and you’ve got a heaping plate of Lost Boys. Here, maggots are served in Chinese take-out boxes, Bill from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure has an afterlife (as does his career…momentarily), and Jason Patrick floats above his bedroom mattress like a hunky tooth fairy in tight jeans and Reeboks. Chelsea Cinemas invites you to morph into high-flying, merry-go-riding, teenage Draculas. Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. Some blood sucking required.

“We hate people who talk during movies, unless they’re really funny!
And these guys are…if you miss the old Mystery Science Theater 3000 (and who doesn’t?) then these sarcastic quipsters, working live without a net, will do your heart good.”
-J.C. Shakespeare, The Austin Chronicle
