Nick Griffin Gotham Comedy Club NY July 30- Aug 2

In case you don’t already know Nick Griffin is a 40is stand-up comedian of Irish decent living out of an apartment in Hell’s Kitchen (Midtown West.)  For a very interesting read on the Irish in Hells Kitchen go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell’s_Kitchen,_Manhattan .
Nick has been on David Letterman and Craig Ferguson many times and has a Comedy Central Special under his belt. He is a favorite on the Bob and Tom radio show. Me? Personally I think he is brilliant.
Willis….So Nick I am a female so I can’t help noticing you are a good looking guy. Is that good or bad for your career in stand-up?
Griffin…I don’t know. 
Willis…Pardon my asking but it seems strange .. you must have a huge female following who adore you..are you really as insecure with women as your act says you are?
Griffin..Do I say I am insecure? I remember saying I was horny. Maybe I am insecure about my horniness. I was insecure when I was younger. Now I’m just divorced. I couldn’t get along with someone who loved me. That says more about me than anything else.
Willis…So Nick why comedy? I hear you are from a big family did you draw the “be the funny one ” card.?
Griffin..All the kids in the family were funny. I just hated real work more than the rest of them. For god sakes, I got fired as a busboy. Do you know how bad an employee you have to be to get fired as a busboy? Your job is to put dirty dishes in a tub and take it in back.
Willis….Being from an Irish family was yours an Alec Baldwin-ish kind of upbringing.. Those Baldwins are also funny and good looking.
Griffin…I don’t know any of the Baldwins. There were seven of us. It was mostly kids beating up other kids, then eating dinner, then going back to beating each other up.
Willis….Sorry I am asking such shallow questions. Your comedy is mostly sophomoric with some painful earth shaking truths thrown it. The bit about when a woman gets a man to say he loves her….well that is just unsettling… Do you really think women are that calculating?
Griffin…All I know about women is they have parts that I don’t and I really want to touch them.
Willis…..Are you really that manac depressed guy you sometimes seem to be on stage and on your Web Blog. We worry about you after the show.
Griffin…No reason to worry about me. Now they have medicine for folks like me.
Willis…. I know you write all your own material.. are you writing for anyone else?
Griffin…If I"ve said it once i’ve said it a million times. I’m always writing for the lord.
Willis….You are without a doubt a big role model for many up and coming young Comics. Who is your comedy favorite of all time?
Griffin…I’m a role model. Are you drunk, lady? As for comics I like, Carlin, Richard Pryor, Richard Lewis, Paul Mooney.
Willis….Ahhh Carlin ..I loved Carlin also.what is your favorite Carlin Quote?
