Hey All and Welcome!

So, here is the first of hopefully many comedy video board contests with all of you talented folks.

There are a few rules changes.

1.) Reply to this posting with your TOP FOUR videos in order from favorite to least favorite.  You cannot vote for your own video. Feel free to write any comments about each one if you want.  HOWEVER, keep it constructive.  Let’s respect one another.  Bonus if you like on youtube and subscribe, but that’s up to you.

2.) The top three, Gold, Silver, and Bronze stay on the chart for the next contest.

3.) Voting opens now and I’ll keep it open for about a week and a half. Feel free to invite anyone to vote on this message board.

Now, this is an honor system, so if you participate, you promise to watch these videos.  Five videos aren’t that much.  This can’t work unless you do that.

Here are my votes! Good job all! This just one man’s opinon, so please take it with a grain of salt.

1.) “THE WELL LIT CIRCLE : Webisode One” - I do feel you had a slight advantage as you made one large video show with many sketches instead of just one sketch. So, I will ask that you next time only submit one, but I’m at fault for not specifying. That being said, you have a lot of good ideas. I saw shades of Human Giant and Mr. Show in there. The only suggestion is to work more on your production value, but good job overall. You’re talented!

2.) “Monkey in the Middle” - Pretty simple and good. Good production value! I think you can hit your end just a little harder, but I dig it. People might say the same about my videos.

3.) “Uncle Mom” - I like the performance and I think you guys have comedic talent. It was a bit confusing and felt like it could be a funny improv scene. I feel it would be better served to be a little more clear with your story no matter how crazy it gets. Also, the camera moved around a lot so it made it harder to follow.

4.) “Mind Chimes - Short” - I like the performances here as well. It was a bit confusing and felt like it could be a funny improv sceme like Uncle Mom, but I gave the edge to them because they felt just a little more experienced as performers. However, keep at it and “flip my flapjacks”

I love all of them!!I appreciate your vote Celluloid =) I do apologize for throwing up ALL of “Webisode One” next time we can upload a single Sketch but I do apologize. We are going to be working on scripts for “The Well Lit Circle” Webisodes 2, 3 and 4 right now so it will take us a little time before we are able to upload another one. If you’d rather, I could put up just one specific video from it instead or maybe next time? Again, sorry. XD
That being said, I loved the other videos! This is going to be such a great idea when it gets underway

Without including my own Sketches I’d like to throw in my votes and two cents ;) Like Cell said “This is just one man’s opinion, so please take it with a grain of salt”
I think EVERYONE did a great job! Every group on this list has a lot of potential and should keep all the hard work up! This is just my two cents of positive criticism! It’s all positive! Please don’t be offended or upset. It’s only my opinion and Im only trying to help give ideas =)!
Again, EVERY VIDEO WAS GREAT! LET KEEP THIS GOING!

1.) “Uncle Mom” - I LOVED this sketch! I was laughing the minute the “boy” walked in. My only suggestion is to expand on the dialogue, very similar to what Celluloid said, it could’ve been even longer and I felt it could’ve been an improv set that could’ve gone crazy (But I totally get the point of cutting this short and to the point) I LOVED every second of it though. This Won my vote immediately.
2.) “Mind Chimes - Short” - This was an easy #2, reminded me of a Charlie Day type “flip-out” which is hilarious in whatever situation. This easily Won my #2! Great Sketch! You guys have so much potential! I did feel a little awkward when the conversation escalated, maybe use more angles when filming so you’re able to get more expressions from the characters.
3.) “Monkey in the Middle” - I really liked this one! That Canon quality is great! I thought this video was hilarious and watched it a couple of times! When I showed it to the few guys that work with me on WLC they said it felt like an “inside joke” the whole time, was it basically just improvised or was there an actual script to it? It was short and sweet but maybe add a little more dialogue to lead up to an end. (Again, similar to what celluloid said) but hilarious acting! Good job!

Top Four from favorite to least favorite were: Stupid Questions - The Bathroom (simple, funny, to the point & nicely done…feels slick & professional), The Well Lit Circle: Webisode One (Ambitious with some really funny moments but uneven. the last Survivor portion threw off the pacing. there were also some missed opportunities. I thought The Dark Knight Rages could have been hilarious if the Dark Knight started actually raging like all out.) Uncle Mom (Started off funny, but felt aimless after a bit. The end moment where the son gets mad was funny. Might play better if it was cut down a bit in length) and finally, Monkey In The Middle ( I felt this one could have been hilarious. It has a great setup but then it goes nowhere and it left me thinking - that’s it?) These are just my opinions and I wish everyone good luck and keep at it!

1. “Stupid Questions - The Bathroom” I thought this one was simple, well made, and made me laugh.

2. “Uncle Mom” - Great acting, especially the guy who acted like a little kid, but it confused me, though i think that was the point.

3. “THE WELL LIT CIRCLE : Webisode One” - very entertaining, some of the sketches were a little corny and definitely should have been shorter, maybe split up half the clips into 2 videos

4.  “Mind Chimes - Short” - This one confused me a lot, i had no idea what was going on, but these guys have some potential

Excluding my own video of course, My votes order from best to last are, Stupid Question—the batthroom=1, Monkey in the middle=2, Well lit Circle=3, Uncle mom=4…

Top four from my favorite to least favorite:

1. Stupid Questions - The Bathroom

Simple and funny. Also looks very professional.

2. Monkey In The Middle

I thought the idea was hilarious but I felt the execution was a bit lacking. I think going more over-the-top at the end would help.

3. The Well Lit Circle

Several of the sketches were funny, especially the Racist Rod one, but others I felt went on for a bit too long.

4. Uncle Mom

I think the acting is good but it was a bit confusing and I felt that the camera moved around too much.
