Does anyone work with a writing partner or another standup while writing material? I’m a dedicated joke writer - I write for an hour five days a week - but it’s starting to feel like a grind. Basically, I’m looking for the magic that happens when you’re riffing with someone else.

About me: male, early thirties, doing standup for < 1 year but comfortable on stage, did the writing program at Second City, capable of writing jokes with strong punchlines, looking to expand my material and help someone else do likewise. I work mostly clean but curse like a sailor off-stage so open-minded.

Some favorite comics: Mitch Hedberg, Eddie Izzard, Chris Rock, Anthony Jeselnick, Bill Cosby.

Im a newbie getting into stand up…very raw…just read the comedy bible by Judy Carter…says i need a comedy buddy to write with…I find that when Im riffing with someone, jokes comea across easier…so i will be looking for someone to write with…not sure if you are interested in writing with such a new person…but im open to meeting up and seeing if we click. Im looking to take a class at Comedy institiute soon and am currently taking improv classes at the pit..let me know..responsible, hard worker as well.
