Will Franken’s Latest Podcast “Side Two of Abbey Road”

Absurdist comedic artist Will Franken just released the final installment of his podcast series “Things We Did Before Reality”. It is called “Side Two of Abbey Road”. Will chose this to be the title for two reasons: one, because it has always been his favorite side of his favorite album by his favorite band; and the other because since it was the twelfth and final installment of the Beatle’s collaboration, it was fitting to use as the backdrop for the twelfth and final installment of his podcast series.

The way he blends the music with his life story is amazing, even going so far as to synchronize the beat of his dialog around the lyrics, guitar licks, and breaks in the songs. The piece really pays homage to the brilliance of the Beatles and as such is by far the most reverent piece of work I’ve ever heard.

Zach Galifianakis is hosting a party for New York magazine. It’s an Indie Rock Trivia night and the winning team gets a $500 prize. (The second and third place prizes aren’t too shabby either!)

Les Savy Fav is playing a full set of music after the games, and it’s sure to be a wild night of comedy and music.

Submission deadline Boston Comedy Festival

We are accepting submissions for the 9th annual Stand-up Comedy Contest, in which $10,000 in prize money will be awarded.

Ninety-six comics will be selected to compete in the contest preliminaries (September 14th-20th) in various venues in Boston’s Theater District. The finals of the Contest will be held on September 20th at the Cutler Majestic Theater where eight of the top emerging talents will compete in front of talent scouts, managers and booking agents, as well as comedy fans.

The majority of spots are booked by tape submissions.

To apply for the contest please submit:
- DVD or VHS of a performance, up to 6 minutes long
- Bio/Headshots
- a check or money order for $35 US made out to

So i just finished watching this new comedy series that i kept on hearing about. Everyone is right this show is hilarious! Check it out. But i do want to hear back what people think about it, It got me thinking after the 2nd series.. it has a twist of awareness which i think is great! Watch it, let me know

Zach is from North Carolina. He likes teeth and he grows his own beard. This is definitely enough reason to let him make fun of you as he hosts an Indie Rock Trivia game sponsored by New York magazine and featuring a performance by the killer Brooklyn band, Les Savy Fav.

Wed, May 21st at the Highline Ballroom. Tickets are $25 and include a one-year subscription to the mag. Look for random comedy cameos and premieres of never-before-seen Zach material.
