Tom Rhodes: There and Back Again

Here’s a video that sorta documents the career of Tom Rhodes and his way back to stand-up. I say “sorta” because there’s really not a lot of connective tissue in here - most of the film is Rhodes performing comedy in different eras. If you pay attention you can see the chain from Comedy Central’s first star to dismally stupid sitcom to redemption as a stand-up, focusing on entertaining more than just Americans (he still does - he hasgigs in Hong Kong, Manila and Bangkok upcoming.) I’d actually love to see more of those details in this. But of course, seeing the Rhodes perform - well, that’s kind of the point, isn’t it?

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Rhodes is at New York’s Comix this weekend. Dylan from Punchline caught up with him after Friday’s show and found that he’s both funny and squeezable.
