Bernie Mac 1957-2008, a King is Dead.

Sad news today as Bernie Mac has died. Previous rumors had him passing early, but apparently earlier today he finally succumbed to pneumonia. One of the Original Kings of Comedy, Mac was a brilliant practitioner of stand-up with an amazing control of an audience. It’s a shame that his final concert film, “The Whole Truth, Nothing but the Truth, So Help Me Mac”, will never come to pass now. (At the time I had speculated that it would not be a final farewell as Bernie was only 49. Sigh.)

Every time I have “milk and cookies”, Bernie Mac will make me laugh as he has ever since I saw him in the “Kings of Comedy”.  I brought 20 homeless Veterans to see that movie in the theater and left with them at the shelter, a copy of it when it came out on video.  Luckily his comedy will live on.  The Museum of Comedy has a giant poster from the movie and will display it prominently in his honor.  What a talent!!!  Sillie Sallie, High Jestress

First, my condolences to Mr. Mac’s family, friends and fans.  We have truly lost a soldier in the war against ignorance, bigotry, and just plain intolerance of each other. He showed in his humor that we all all more alike than we are more apart, yes culturally there may be a difference, BUT laughing is the same all over the world. He wasn’t afraid to say what was what about a situation or take a scenario and spin off of it. His TV show brought me to tears from laughing so hard, only caught 2 of his stand-up shows and the ever Famous KINGS OF COMEDY show, but he was only getting started. He will be missed by ALOT of people, and my heart goes out to his wife and daughter, may he always live in your hearts anad continue to make people laugh through you in some kind of way.

God Bless
Rhondalin
